Run for Fun

Friday, May 9, 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Register for the annual Run for Fun! The $25 entry fee entitles students to a race number, as well as a Spring Fair t-shirt designed by our talented 7th Graders. The Run for Fun will be held on the Pulpit Green on Friday, May 9, at 3:30 p.m., following Upper School dismissal. All Lower School registrants MUST be accompanied by an adult.

Registration is available online via credit card payment. To register for Run for Fun online, please click here

Run for Fun registrants will have their t-shirt and race numbers distributed to them in the classroom on Friday, May 9.

Note:
After School classes will take place on Friday, May 9, despite the concurrent Run for Fun. All the Friday instructors have been informed that their classes will either be small or will have students joining late. Some instructors have agreed to adjust their projects for the day to accommodate the latecomers. It is your choice whether to send your children late or to skip the class. Please send an email to After School coordinator Monika Jasinska (mjasinska@cathedralnyc.org) if your child will miss some/all of the Friday After School. All Lower School After School Run for Fun participants must still have an adult present.

Spring Fair Day

Saturday, May 10, 12:00 PM. - 4:00 PM.
A day of fun featuring: games, rides, prizes, bake sale, and more! All friends and family welcome!

Wristbands: Wristbands provide access to rides only, not games or food, and allow the wearer unlimited visits to the Bounce House, Accelerator Slide, and Turbo Tubs. Wristbands can be purchased in advance for $35, or for $40 on the day of the fair.

Tickets: Tickets are $1 apiece or 22 for $20. Tickets are needed to play games and can also be used to purchase snacks and beverages. For those who decline to purchase a wristband, tickets can also be used to access rides.

You can buy wristbands and tickets here. Wristbands and tickets bought online will be delivered to the child’s class on Friday, May 9.

Picnic on the Close: In a change from prior years, while there will still be beverages, snacks, and sweets available for purchase at Spring Fair, there will not be lunch food for sale. Instead, families are invited to bring their own picnic lunch to share together on the Cathedral Close. While a few tables with chairs will be available for seniors or those who cannot sit picnic-style, everyone else is encouraged to bring their own blankets. (For those interested, a limited number of Cathedral picnic blankets are available for purchase here.) While beer, non-alcoholic drinks, sweets, and snacks will be available to purchase with tickets, cash, or credit card, those looking to buy lunch food can explore the options available at our community’s local businesses on Amsterdam Avenue, as well as the surrounding neighborhood.

Hoops From The Heart: The Cathedral School’s 12th annual Hoops From The Heart will take place on Saturday, May 10, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM on the Upper Playground during Spring Fair! All are invited to participate in this student-driven fundraiser, supporting financial aid at Cathedral. Hoops will be moved inside if there is inclement weather.

Due to space limitations, there is no rain backup location for Spring Fair. The Fair will go on in light sprinkles, or passing showers, but not heavy rain.

Bring Your Own Water Bottle to Spring Fair

Go Green! Please bring a reusable water bottle to Spring Fair! As part of PEACOCK's efforts to “green" the fair, there will be water stations around the Close for families to refill water bottles. Cups will not be provided for water. Our planet thanks you for your GREEN cooperation! A limited number of Cathedral water bottles will also be available for purchase.

Bake Sale

Love to bake? We need you! Please sign up to provide a nut-free baked good for Spring Fair Day! Signups will be online here. There will not be tins provided this year, so please bring disposable (recyclable!) containers. Please drop off bake sale items by 11:30 a.m. the day of the fair at the bake sale tent.

Volunteers Needed for Spring Fair and Hoops

Spring Fair can't happen without the involvement of our fabulous parents! We need all hands on deck to make this great day run smoothly. Our goal is for every family at Cathedral to take one volunteer spot per adult in their household. There are many options from which to choose, and you can sign up to work a shift with a friend or your child. Be sure to sign up early and often! If we don’t have enough volunteers, we have to close down some games - no sad children’s faces please!

Health and Safety

Spring Fair will be held entirely outdoors on the Cathedral Close. We will adhere to the Cathedral and Cathedral School COVID protocols in place at the time of the Spring Fair.
