Overnight Trip to Boston

The 7th and 8th grade traveled to Boston this past Thursday for an overnight trip. It was a wonderful opportunity for students to learn and bond, as they hit the road for a fun-filled and educational trip. With the goal of supplementing their Social Studies and English curriculum, students were given the opportunity to explore the Freedom Trail and interact with the exhibits at the Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum. Along the way, everyone in attendance was able to create lasting memories for their time at Cathedral.

 

The Freedom Trail tour included stops at 16 historically significant sites in Boston. Including, the Granary Burying Ground, Boston Massacre Site, Paul Revere House, USS Constitution, and more. The stops at each location were highlighted by historical facts shared by the group's tour guide. At the Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum, students took part in an interactive exhibit where they were able to board an 18th century ship and throw tea into the same waters that the Boston Tea Party took place in. Along with the educational activities, students had a great time with each other on the bus ride, while sharing meals, and they even had some free time to play arcade games with one another. 

 

Everyone had an incredible time, and students reinforced many of the lessons they have been learning in class.
