3rd Grade Storytelling Event
On Thursday, December 21, 3rd Grade students hosted a storytelling event that families were able to attend. The event was modeled after The Moth which is a live storytelling showcase that occurs right here in New York City, where participants share stories in their own unique ways.
In the 3rd Grade’s adaptation, students shared personal narratives after choosing a seed idea to elaborate on. Their goal was to show the audience what was happening using descriptive words, expressive language, humor, and important dialogue to paint a picture for those in attendance. Students also diligently edited their stories, checking for proper spelling, punctuation, and capitalization. Each student had the opportunity to read their story aloud and everyone in attendance had a great time hearing these personal stories that 3rd Graders worked so hard to put together.
